Bio:
White finished the 2008/09 season on top of the world, scoring a century as he captained the Bushrangers to the Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield title. It capped off a big season for the all-rounder, who made his Test debut in India as well as representing Australia in the shorter forms of the game.
The big-hitting right-hander didn't make as many appearances for the Bushrangers with his international duties, but he averaged 57.75 in five Shield matches, while helping to lead the team to the Ford Ranger Cup and KFC Twenty20 Big Bash finals.
The absence of Ricky Ponting for a number of matches in Australia's one day series against England a afforded White the opportunity to bat higher in the order and resulted in his most significant performances in national colours. Known for his power game, White proved his skills as a genuine top order batsman who could adapt and build an innings. This form continued over the Australian summer, during which he was also named as vice-captain of the Aussies Twenty20 side.
