Bio:

Hodge made history for Victoria in 2008/09, breaking Darren Berry's mark for most first-class appearances (now standing at 144) and smashing Dean Jones' record for most first-class runs for the state (now 11,074).

The stylish right-hander was a fixture in all three forms of the game, highlighted by a brilliant 261 in the Sheffield Shield against Queensland, two centuries in the Ford Ranger Cup, and perhaps the best of the lot of them, scoring an inspirational 59 not out after straining a hamstring in the KFC Big Bash preliminary final.

Hodge was named as the captain of the ACA Interstate Twenty20 Team of the Year and retained his Australian contract for the coming season.

The 2009/10 season has been a significant one for the 35-year-old, retiring from first class cricket in December 2009 but continuing to play limited-overs and Twenty20 matches.

He needs to score just 16 runs to surpass former Queensland batsman Jimmy Maher's record of 4589 runs in Australia's domestic 50-over competition.

Hodge has already been the leading run scorer in this ODD competition with 467 runs at an average of 66.71, including three centuries.
