Hastings returns for Big Bash clash against SA

Victorian selectors have named a 12-man team for the DEC Bushrangers second KFC Twenty20 Big Bash clash against the Westend Redbacks on Saturday 8 January at the Adelaide Oval.

Only one change has been made to the Victorian line-up that comprehensively beat the Queensland Bulls on Sunday night, with all-rounder John Hastings replacing paceman Clint McKay.

Hastings was named in the DEC Bushrangers initial squad for their opening match of the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash but was ruled out the day before the game with soreness in his right shoulder.

Since then Hastings has responded well to a cortisone injection and was given the all-clear to resume playing. Australian paceman Clint McKay was not available for selection sidelined with foot soreness.

Victoria and South Australia are embattled in a fierce rivalry after the Bushrangers cleaned up the Redbacks in last year's Big Bash final. All eyes will also be on the two side's West Indian recruits Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard as they face off against one another with their adopted States.

Bravo took a wicket in his first match back with the Bushrangers but only faced two balls batting at number six and will be hoping for a solid performance against his West Indian teammate.

Pollard will be one for the Bushrangers to watch after a cracking start to his Big Bash campaign. He made an outlandish 53 from just 24 balls, including five sixes in the Redbacks loss to the Blues.

The DEC Bushrangers 13-man squad V QLD Bulls:

Cameron White (C) 9

Dwayne Bravo 47

Aaron Finch 5

Shane Harwood 2

John Hastings 11

Brad Hodge 7

David Hussey 8

Glenn Maxwell 32

Dirk Nannes 26

James Pattinson 19

Rob Quiney 12

Matthew Wade 13
